Life in a nutshell
Well here we are 6 months down the road from Colby's stroke and life is utterly insane. For those of you that don't know. Colby had e.coli poisoning and developed hemolytic uremic syndrome which is a fancy way of saying his kidneys quit working. From there he had a stroke that damaged most of the basal ganglia in his brain. In one week he went from a healthy little 2 year old boy who skateboarded and fished with his dad to being in a coma for 3 weeks and not being able to talk, walk, sit up or do anything for himself. We are now looking at some experimental treatments namely hyperbaric oxygen treatments. He has had 13 treatments as of today and we still have 17 more to go. This means Mom and Colby drive an hour and a half to the treatment center sit in an oxygen tank for an hour and then drive home an hour and a half. Jahnna our 4 yr old goes to her friends houses and Riley our sweet 10 month old little girl goes to grandma's. John is still working 80 hours a week for the army recruiting his little heart out and life goes on one day at a time. That's pretty much the update on our lives at this point. I wanted to send out Christmas cards with our blog address in it but seeing as Easter is this weekend maybe they will be Happy Spring cards instead.

I guess I had no idea how serious it was. Bless your hearts. I can only imagine the struggles you have been facing! What a blessing from God to still have him with you though!
