Amundsen House of Chaos

Let's face it, when you have a kid who survived a stroke, life is always going to be a little chaotic.

Rotten Riley or I'm thankful for #3

I figure since Riley is baby #3 and she had such a funny week I am grateful for her this week. Riley is so different from Jahnna and Colby but so much the same. Funny funny little girl. The last month or so she has been speaking gobbledygook. We keep saying we wish we could understand her better. She signs a few signs and says a few words like Thank you and grandpa mom and dad but really not much more. So we went down to Salt Lake on Friday and we were coming home eating some hamburgers in the car. She kept saying bite, bite and then a whole bunch of gibberish. I'd give her a french fry she would take one bite and throw it on the floor. So I told her she was all done. She gives this very determined look and say bite give it to me bite. very clear very sincere and no joking about it. So Jahnna's first sentence was My bear please. Colby's was die baby die. (There's a very funny story behind it he's really not sadistic!)and Riley's is bite, give it to me, bite! I think it's hysterical especially because alot of people I know with special needs kids have been saying that if they have an older non verbal child than usually the one following them is also a delayed talker. So I figured maybe this was why Riley doesn't talk as much as Jahnna did at her age. I guess she just hasn't decided to let us in on her little secret. She really does not how to talk she just doesn't want too! Riley has also decided that it's funny to sit up on our shoulders and eat our heads. She makes an eating noise and pretends to eat us. She was also saying bonk and she was pounding on her dad. She can be quite stingy with her kisses but when she wants to love you look out! Your in for a bunch of them! I wish I could say I was grateful she is a wonderful sleeper but the truth is her and Colby alternate which hour each is up so I can't really say I'm grateful for that. I am grateful for her smiles which is why we call her smiley Riley although she is cutting molars right now which is why she is rotten riley! So this week I'm am thankful for my #3!

She's gotten so big! I still remember when you told me that you thought you were preggers. How far you've all been since then, and the good ol days of Filer! :)
