Amundsen House of Chaos

Let's face it, when you have a kid who survived a stroke, life is always going to be a little chaotic.

We are home! The surgery went well. They bumped us back from a 4:30 surgery time to almost 7:00. So he didn't get out of recovery until almost 9:30 Wed night. Good thing we brought Wubzy videos to keep us entertained! The surgery was only an hour and fifteen minutes long. His incision is huge but the pump doesn't stick out as much as I thought it would. We had to stay 2 nights because he got out of surgery so late. They adjusted it again this morning and we will see how this week goes and go back down for fine tuning next week. Kind of a long process. Despite being in the hospital it was fun to see some of our favorite nurses and visit with some of the therapists that we had worked with before. We just kept telling ourselves it was only two nights we could handle it. Colby's room was right next door to the room we spent two months in so it was a little like deja vu walking down the hall. Anyway that is the update and I'll post some presurgery pictures after awhile.

I'm glad you're home and that things went well with the surgery. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
